Has anyone heard any recent news on this development? Last I can find is the article below. Two 16-storey buildings planned for Old Carriage August 19, 2011 | Kitchener Post staff | Kitchener Post | LINK Two 16-storey multi-residential buildings planned for 200 Old Carriage Drive will be closer to the road than generally required by the planning act. On Tuesday the City of Kitchener committee of adjustment approved several minor variances that will allow builders to have smaller setbacks from Old Carriage Road and Homer Watson Boulevard than required. “Some of the variances are actually very minor,” said committee member Bob McColl. “It just troubles me a little bit that builders and designers are always wanting to push past what is allowed when they could redesign.” The biggest diversion from the planning act is with the change of setback for the exterior side yard to 6.17m from the required 15m for one portion of the building. |

Today I noticed that the land for this development has been cleared, and leveled. There were a number of machines on site, so it looks this project has entered the construction phase. | |
